Body & Appearance

The one-piece body is constructed from a robust and refined PC material with four coats of protection to reduce scratches from everyday use. The fire button feels hardy, firm and wobble-free — the overall device feels of the utmost quality you expect from Vaporesso.

Vaporesso Gen PT60 Front Side

The PT60 is seriously lightweight, weighing in at a shocking 95 grams, making it one of the lightest sub-ohm devices I have used thus far — far less than the weight of the Gen PT80 with a battery. The body is perfectly palm-sized, with a soothing texture of diagonal lines etched into the surface, allowing for a slip-free grip.

The bottom up-and-down buttons are paired in the same colourway and deliver a satisfying click; although small, they're surprisingly operable.

However, the large fire button is prone to scratches far more than the rest of the body; this may be due to it not having the layers of coatings the body boasts, and the brilliant metallic sheen will make them more visible — I am not overly fussed about scratches myself, as vapes go through the war in my pocket every day, causing wear and tear inevitable despite any manufacturer's best efforts.

The USB Type-C charging port is neatly positioned at the bottom of the front of the mod — under the buttons and screen — providing quick and easy access while enabling the more desirable upright charging position.

Features & Performance

Being the first and only pod kit to integrate top airflow and top filling in one system, the Gen PT60 combines these two heavily beneficial features in perfect harmony.

The tank uses a swivelling feature to access the rubber-plugged re-fill port, which, combined with the other elements, makes this vape so nearly impossible to spill. The entire pod tank is constructed to provide a smoother experience and simpler operation.

Though Vaporesso does not boast a specific chip for internal operations, the PT60 is equipped with a smart chip capable of automatic coil detection, adjusting the wattage to the ideal level for the coil's resistance.

Though the Vaporesso Gen PT kit comes with an OLED screen, there is nothing particularly special to discuss. Let's just say that the majority of the best features are built within the tank and coil.

Through the simultaneous press of the up-and-down buttons, you gain access to the menu screen displaying: VW (Variable Wattage), VV (Variable Voltage), SW (Smart Wattage), Default and Exit. I recommend the SW option as it is the one which does the work for you! The rest of the options are great, though seemingly unnecessary and confusing to most.

Battery & Charging

Fully charging the Gen PT60 takes around one hour using a USB Type-C cable since the pod mod includes 2A fast-charging.

The 2500mAh battery lasted me three days of use on a single charge! Which is far above the average of two days.

The unprecedentedly significant battery life is likely due to the pre-installed 0.4Ω (ohm) GTX mesh coil, which only demands 25-30W of power (half of the maximum 60W output).

The battery inside of the PT60 is the rough equivalent of just over four standard TPD disposable vapes, 1000mAh less than an external 18650 battery.

The internal battery should not and cannot be removed, meaning you must replace the entire mod with time rather than replacing the battery.

If you want a slightly greater battery life and are willing to purchase or already own an external battery, I recommend checking out the Vaporesso Gen PT80.

Pod & Coils

The Vaporesso xTank Pod delivers an impressive DTL (Direct to Lung) draw, especially breezy for a pod tank! The xTank is genuinely one of a kind; being both top-fill and top-airflow, it is the only pod tank on the market available with both!

As I mentioned in the features, Vaporesso combines two well-loved and sought-after elements with perfect chemistry and harmony, creating a whole new sector within the industry.

This makes this xTank pod really unique; the top-airflow system is the perfect solution for those suffering from leaky vapes (unless you leave it upside-down!).

By twisting the top aluminium cover, you control the airflow restrictiveness and gain access to re-fill the device. Before reclosing the cap, push the rubber stopper back in place to create a tight seal.

Through twisting, you can refine your RDTL (Restricted Direct to Lung) hit for the optimum experience and simpler operation through millimetre-fine increments; this enables the ideal flow of delicious vapour into your lungs.

Important to note: The device photographed is the non-TPD compliant model, holding 4.5ml of E-Liquid — 2.5ml more than the TPD standard xTank pod 2ml capacity.

Now, let's take a look at these replaceable coils!

The coils are other-worldly; they include the patented COREX heating technology (Morph-Mesh), ensuring more efficient and even heat distribution, preventing hot spots — certain mesh sections being significantly hotter than others — prolonging the time necessary in-between coil changes. Which is awesome!

Inside the Vaporesso GTX coils is Vaporesso's luxurious cumulus cotton. Specially made to prolong how long your vape stays tasting good! I cannot say I can totally taste the difference, though the flavour of the coils speaks for itself.

It is imperative to note this intricacy, as it is regularly overlooked; however, without good cotton, most users would undoubtedly have something to say!

The GTX mesh coils for the Gen PT60 vape kit range from a 1.2Ω (ohm) coil for a smooth and cool vapour to a potently powerful 0.15Ω coil for kick-ass clouds.

The 0.15Ω mesh coil, however, has a recommended ideal wattage of 70W, so even though it will work, I would advise against it — you will run your battery to the ground quickly while still being unable to reap the benefits of the coil.

The best coil for flavour and clouds in the PT60 is undoubtedly the 0.2Ω, cruising at a high yet steady recommended wattage of 55W (40W-60W range); you enjoy the maximum potential of this mighty little beast while not overpowering the device.

The GTX coil range also allows for a wide variety of E-Liquid shortfills and high-VG E-Liquids. I wouldn't recommend using nic salts for the sub-ohm coils, though if you desire to do so, it is possible with the higher +1Ω coils, making this mod remarkably versatile.

Using the Vaporesso Gen PT60

Vaporesso Gen PT60 Screen

I was astonished when I picked up the device at just how exceptionally lightweight this pod vape really is — especially for the size and power.

I personally see lightweight mods in two conflicting lights; either poor build quality and tackiness, or ergonomically constructed and impressively engineered. The Gen PT60 is undoubtedly the latter.

Initially, when holding the vape and lifting it to my mouth for the first time, I read "Made in China", staring directly at me from the top of the Vaporesso xTank pod… Why they would place it there, I have no idea.

However, I am being nit-picky; the mod's body's tactile feel and sheer rigidity are contrary to low quality.

The internal battery is one of the most surprising aspects I discovered whilst indulging myself with this fantastic mod. It has not yet died on me, even while sitting and writing this review after multiple days of use! It is still pumping clouds — unheard of for internal batteries and seriously impressive.

I would link the extensive battery life to the COREX heating technology inside of the GTX coils; this new mesh is clearly more power-efficient than standard mesh coils.

They are super easy to install, being press-fit into the pod and compatible with various Vaporesso vapes, making them widely available and the perfect sidekick for this mod.

Now, for the letdowns… (I aim to be as honest as possible, so I must write this.) Unfortunately, there are two big and questionable downfalls with this mod.

Firstly and foremost, the chip. Though the chip is a smart chip — though it is capable of detecting and automatically setting the correct power for each coil you use — the experience simply feels sub-standard compared to Vaporesso's new AXON chip!

If they hadn't created such an impressively exceptional chip, I would not be mentioning this, though I find it counter-intuitive not to implement the AXON chip; this little beast would have been a whole other animal!

Secondly, the screen… Though it is easy to read, being bright and bold, it is severely outdated compared to modern competitors and other vapes Vaporesso offers. Why did they do this? Anyway, it does the job, though I expected more.

But let's not end on a downer. This vape is an excellent mod; it is innovative and well-crafted. Not to mention my Mother loves it to pieces! I will see how long I can hold on to it before it mystically disappears.

Who Should Get The Vaporesso Gen PT60?

The Vaporesso Gen PT60 vape mod is perfect for those who enjoy a particularly cool and airy DTL (Direct to Lung) draw; if you are already familiar with the experience of using a sub-ohm, the PT60 is an excellent option if you are accustomed to smaller, more lightweight vapes.

My mother tried this vape for a couple of days. She specifically emphasised that it is excellent for her needs due to how precise the E-Liquid level is and how compact and lightweight it feels in her hand.

The PT60 starkly contrasts her chunky and weighted Vaporesso Forz TX80, feeling far more natural and easy to use quickly and throw into her bag without concerns for E-Liquid spillages.

This vape is perfect for those who want power in a compact, elegant, lightweight body with a spill-resistant top.

The coils deliver impressive clouds without being too hot; this is especially prominent with the lower-powered coils.

If you're looking for a high-quality vape for a cheap price, you can't go far wrong with the Vaporesso Gen PT60 Kit; yes, it has its drawbacks, but a Vaporesso is a Vaporesso, and for something in this weight calibre and style, it is a sound choice.

Vaporesso Gen PT60 FAQs

What's the difference between the Vaporesso PT60 and PT80?

The main difference between the two models is the battery and output. The PT80 does not include a battery; an external 18650 battery must be purchased separately and installed.

The Gen PT60 is the little sister of the PT80, having smaller up and down buttons and an adapted exterior design to suit the more compact size.

Which coils are compatible with the Vaporesso PT60?

The Gen PT60 is made for use with the GTX coil range, which includes both standard coils and mesh coils (mesh coils are known to produce better flavour and be longer-lasting).

When selecting replacement coils, ensure the recommended power for the coils does not exceed 60W. I would advise against the use of the 0.15Ω (ohm) coil.

What's the difference between top fill and bottom fill?

Top-filling vape tanks, pod tanks, and pods are only refillable via a port located at the top of the tank.

Top-filling vapes are more desirable as they are quicker and easier to access and leak far less.

How long does the Vaporesso PT60 battery last?

The battery should last around two days.

The battery life depends on the type of coil you have installed — lower-ohm coils eat away at your battery faster as they demand more power.

Also, consider your unique vaping style, frequency of use and wattage. The battery inside of the PT60 is 2500mAh, 1000mAh less than an external 18650 and the rough equivalent of just over four disposable vapes (600mAh).

How long does the Vaporesso PT60 take to charge?

The battery should fully charge in around an hour using USB Type-C and DC 5V/2A fast charging.

Always ensure that you use a safe charging head, wire, and socket when charging.

What's SSS leak-resistant technology?

The Vaporesso Gen PT60 pod's leakproof technology is called SSS leak resistance. This is the patented water-tight design implemented into the tank.

The Vaporesso PT60 has a secure rubber flap which is also concealed by the rotating airflow holes.

Which E-Liquid should I use with the Vaporesso PT60?

With sub-ohm coils, E-Liquids such as shortfills with high PG/VG ratios (70%+ VG) are recommended.

However, the above-ohm/+1Ω (ohm) coil options will work with nic salts and higher-PG vape liquids.

The GTX range covers both, so be sure to look at your coils' resistance before choosing your vape juice.
