Nicotine X isn’t just some new fad—it’s made by one of vaping’s greatest creators. Following her world-changing invention of nicotine salts whilst working for vaping giant Juul, Dr Chenyue Xing founded her own company Myst Labs.
With a wealth of education, including a doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of California, Dr Xing also partook in development of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) e-cigarette industry standards.
Myst Labs are now working on getting Dr Xing’s newest creation, Nicotine X, in every vaper’s device. Originally set up in China with over 3000 retail stores, production was eventually sourced out to North America, and are aiming next for the UK!
Who invented nic salts?
Starting out as a research scientist with Juul Labs, Dr Xing created the world-changing, vape favourite nic salts. In 2015, Juul launched Xing’s nic salts with their new pod based device, the JUUL. This started a chain reaction worldwide, with nic salts being one of the best-selling options for smoking aids.
According to her LinkedIn, Dr Xing’s specialities include “pre-formulation and formulation development of inhalation, solid dosage, and topical products.” She also has a strong educational background in this area, including a Masters degree and PhD from prestigious US institutes.
Nic salts are highly popular with vapers due to their chemical formulation. Its core ingredient is naturally derived from tobacco leaves, and an acid is then added to create a nic salt!
This formula gives you a sharper throat hit and a quicker nicotine delivery, meaning it’s a lot easier to nip your cravings in the bud.
Following her work with Juul, she decided to co-found Myst Labs, whilst still actively working as its chief scientist too!
What is Nicotine X?
According to Myst Labs’ website, Nicotine X is “the new generation [of] nicotine technology” with a “LEGO-like construction.” But what does that actually mean?
Nicotine X actually has a lower nicotine level than your standard vape. One of your average disposable vapes, for example, contains 20mg of nic salt, which equates to a nicotine level of 2%. Despite only a 0.03% difference in this, Myst Labs say that “veteran smokers craving[s] [will be] met without a new source of addiction.”
Myst Labs also pride themselves on the development of Nicotine X being the “perfect tobacco-flavoured e-liquid.” Not all vapers will want to vape something that reminds them of a cigarette, but for those who do, or for heavy smokers just starting out vaping, this is a perfect start.
Where can I get Nicotine X?
At the moment, Myst Labs are hoping to provide more of their products to the UK.
In 2020, Myst Labs did launch their products in 36 retail stores in select UK malls, following over implementation in 300 smaller retail stores country-wide.
Nicotine X is now available to vape with Myst Labs’ M1 and M1 Pro devices, as well as the Bored Ape Limited collaboration device. At this time, you can only purchase these directly through Myst Labs’ official website, but we’re hoping to see it everywhere soon!
Nicotine X: The New Nic Salts?
